Michel, It sounds like that arrangement of the shockcord and eyelets you have proposed provides some of the benefits of the "Dutchman" idea where a series of lines runs through eyelets in the sail to force the sail to flake down onto the boom in an oranized manner. Herm

Yes Herm, indeed it's a variation on the Dutchman. Let's call it the Frenchman, because I first heard of it through sailors in Open 40, 50 and 60 class boats with whom I have contacts.
