Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
We're now in Brewerton, NY which is at the far end of the Eastern Erie Canal. We're staying here for 2 days due to the front that's moving through. As a result I had some time to work on my videos and finally got the video that covers the Hudson river completed. You can see it at

Oh, and today I'm trying to figure out why the coolant loop that goes to my water heater isn't looping. I just tried to flush it using a connection to the water hose and heard water spraying under the sole and no water coming out the other end... !@#&$

Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
We're currently in Tonawanda, NY which is at the end of the Erie canal. On Monday we'll get the mast re-stepped which is great as I'm tired of answering questions like: "Is that a sailboat?" and "Where's the mast?". Then it's on through the Great Lakes.
Yesterday BlueJacket added a new event to her list of interesting things that she's done...We crossed an aquaduct with a river running about 75 feet below us. That was pretty cool!
I also published a new log covering Seneca Falls, NY to Brockport: http://www.geoffschultz.org/Log_Page.php?id=1366

Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
I'm happy to report that BlueJacket is a sailing vessel again! We pulled into RCR Yachts in Buffalo yesterday and had the mast stepped. RCR did a great job. We got the mast re-rigged and the sails installed. Today we've got a variety of smaller projects to complete and tomorrow we're headed up Lake Erie.
While we were in the Buffalo area, we did a lot of stuff including spending a DAY at Niagra Falls. I was amazed at how much there was to do there and how beautiful/powerful it was. I published a photo album from there, which has a lot of great images.

We became a sailboat again after having the mast stepped in buffalo. You can find a log covering this and the rest of the western Erie Canal at:

Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
I've bene very bad about posting update to this forum. Right now we're in the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. This reminds me very much of Maine, except that there aren't all of the people and buildings. It's the Maine that we all dream of.
Anyhow, there have been lots of logs and photos albums posted to my web site since I last posted here. Please check out:

http://www.geoffschultz.org/2010_Sailing/Photos/ for photos.

Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
Pulled into Little Current on the Georgian Bay of Ontario where we once again have Internet and cell phone service. We had a wonderful time cruising this section as parts of it reminded me of fjords and other parts reminded me of a Maine that doesn't exist. You know...beautiful rocky shore lines with towering cliffs, but no civilization or lobster pots!
I published a trip log at http://www.geoffschultz.org/Log_Page.php?id=1378
and a photo album at http://www.geoffschultz.org/2010_Sailin ... leCurrent/
What's also amazing is that there are 2 other Freedoms here...Southern Cross and Wind something-or-another.

Re: BlueJacket Sailing Logs
I published a log and photo album covering the North Channel area of Lake Huron from Little Current to Bear Drop. This is an absolutely stunning area which if you ever have a chance to cruise, do it and give yourself plenty of time. Unfortunately we need to move out of here and the winds of fall are coming early...

I published a new log covering the western end of the N Channel to Sault Ste. Marie. This includes a tour of the Bush Plane museum and a trip 141 via train into the Canadian wilderness to the Algoma Canyon.
