We went to Bermuda for the Americas Cup Last year. Fast sailboats. J Boats or AC foiling . Fast sailing!!!
We raced our Freedom 30 CK built in England once.
( It shrunk to a Feedom 28 CK when it sailed the Atlantic to the Carribean and to the US (Some marinas call it 32 ft because of outboard rudder and anchor))
Good Old Boat Race St Pete Yacht club.
Competition included a Palmer Johnson 41.
Light winds.
Conclusion. Not a race boat.
A previous owner raced it and when wind blew hard and reach dominated course he did ok once.
But this particular boat sailed the north sea, the med, the atlantic, the carribean, the gulf of mexico. It has been through at least five hurricanes.
We enjoy it.
We got the best slip in the marina with our sub 3 ft draft. (CB version)
It makes people relax. COMFORTABLE cockpit and nice interior on a 28 foot boat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJbsQaKB5AY We enjoyed the comraderie of the good old boat race.
The boat I want for racing: IFly 15 catamaran.
