Considering purchase of Freedom 35. Questions.

Post by itsmee »

I'm looking at a 1994 Freedom 35 sloop for purchase.

The listing states this is a "Ship Shape" model (not that it's in shipshape condition).

I can't find anything anywhere referencing this model.

Can anyone help me?

PS: This boat doesn't have a windlass!! I'll have to install one. Can someone point me to a diagram showing how most Freedom 35 windlasses (or any model for that matter) are mounted.

Thank you.

The F35 that you are looking at is a Pedrick design model. I bought one this Spring, a 1996 model. It is a great boat. Well made, comfortable to sail and perfect for the type of coastal cruising that I do. Mine has a Simpson Lawrence (now Lewmar) windlass that is mounted forward and slightly to port of the on-deck anchor locker. The engine and electrical components are located in the anchor locker. Check out the F35 on yacht World that is in Goodland Florida. Picture 18 shows the location.

Search the archives on this BB there is a fair amount of chat about the F35.

That boat looks really nice. But...as with any boat purchase, make sure that you get a good surveyor.

Good luck.
