Hans,
Appreciate your reply and the informative post about your Atlantic crossing. Would having a triple reef or stay sail have prevented rudder bearing wear and autopilot tiller failure? Or is it a design flaw not being able to balance the rig in ocean sailing conditions?
Much of intended cruising grounds is in Coastal Alaska and western Mexico where the wind is either light (<10 kts) or strong >25 kts (fickle). I understand the the Freedom fractional rigs are not really very good in light winds, especially on a beat.
Summer seasons get really busy here so haven't looked into FreedomYachts.org for a while.
