Folding saloon table for F39 PH

Post by folotp »

Hello,

I'm looking at building a new saloon table for my Freedom 39 Pilothouse. The original table pivots, and drops to make a bed, but does not fold which makes it awkward to use the saloon for lounging versus dining. The table having a non-symetrical shape, an elegant solution is not obvious so I'm looking for ideas from other F39 owners who have modified their table.

I would also be very curious to get in touch with someone with a UK built F39. I have pictures of two of those (scavenged on the internet over time) that have a very interesting table (see picture attached). I would like to get more pictures of how it is built, and of how they like it in real life use. Curious if it drops to make a bed too. And why that pole? What is its purpose? To support the cabin top or to support the table?
