Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricane Preparedness

Postby rvivian » Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:52 pm

Some years ago several boats were lost at the Houston Yacht Club and (after the fact) the Club created a "Hurricane Preparedness Plan".

Most of the information in the plan is club specific, but if you have a boat in hurricane country you should have a plan for monitoring the approaching storm and for what you should do to prepare so your vessel survives as possible.

The attached PDF file is a copy of Chapter IX of their plan for Cruising Boats that contains some ideas that might help.

Luckily, Puget Sound is in hurricane country.
