New look to the forum

The FreedomYachts.org forum is about to undergo a change in how it looks. This will be a minor change and won't effect functionality, but the layout will be a bit different.

Q: What does this mean to you?
A: Not much, except that you'll notice a new look to the forum when you access it online.

Q: What's the major change that I'll see?
A: You can only access the "View New Posts" and "View Active Topics" links from the Board Index. These links don't appear when you're reading posts. To see these links you need to click on the "Board Index" link which appears under the Freedom logo.

Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Unfortunately I need to make this change because the "skin" (a skin controls how the forum is presented) which I've been using for the forum is no longer supported and all new development is being targeted towards a different skin. I need to make this change so that I can easily update the forum software to take advantage of new features and address security issues.

Q: What should I do if I have questions or problems?
A: Please post any issues as a reply to this topic.

Hi Geoff,

While beta testing the new skin, the first thing I notice is that the user information including profile picture is appearing on the right, rather than the left. Is this user selectable or does it go with the territory of the new skin?

That's just the way that it's going to look.

Apart from some minor cosmetic changes, it looks and feels the same to me. Geoff, thanks for taking the time to keep this forum up to date and running smoothly. Now if I could only say the same for my fp genset... :o
