Helping to pay for FreedomYachts.org

It's hard to believe that it's been 6 years since I started the FreedomYachts.org forum. Since then we've had 805 members sign up who have posted 24443 messages in 5650 topics! If you can't find what you're looking for in here, you aren't looking very hard!

I personally host the forum on my account at pair.com, and I have no problem doing that. However, every 5 years I need to renew the FreedomYachts.org domain name. It's only $65 for 5 years, so I figure if I can get a few people to kick in $5 or $10, we'll cover it quickly. So, I created a web page which links to my PayPal account which allows people to donate to the cause. You can find it at:

http://www.freedomyachts.org/paypal_donate.html

I'll shut it down as soon as we reach the goal. Thanks in advance for your support.

The real Thanks go to you Geoff. As you said: it's you who created this forum, host it and put also your energy in it being it's webmaster.
For us 805 members it is a wonderful source for information about our Freedom's and a opportunity to share info, insights and opinions.
It is me who should thank you for giving this to us, not you thanking me for giving such a small donation. Being in Europe it's not likely that in the near
future I can thank you in person and invite you to share a drink onboard. But should ever the occasion arise I will gladly do so.

Hans and others who included comments with their donations,

Thanks for the kind words. We have a great group of people here who have a lot of experience that they're willing to share. That makes it easy for me to spend the time administering the forum.

We also need to thank Ed Reiss who handles registering new members while I'm off cruising.

P.S. Hans, I'll take you up on that drink should I ever be over there.

Thanks for your efforts, Geoff.

I have enjoyed the site.

It is on my reading list nearly everyday as I am still learning about our good old boats.

The site has allowed me to "meet" the original owner of my boat and that history has made me more comfortable as we sail around.

The previous owner of my boat left a tale and trail of his challenges.

i appreciate the information shared.

I saw this funding request too late but would like to add my gratitude for all the work done in maintaining this excellent web site.

Just now seeing this request, too. I certainly benefit from the wealth of knowledge here and would be willing to step up and donate next year! Huge kudos to you, Geoff, for all that you do to keep this site going!!!

Is it coming round to paying for the website time again? You mentioned a five year timespan. If it can be done through PayPal, I'll cough up a share when it's due next. Send me an e-mail if youwill.

Thanks for all the work you put in; it;s a very valuable resource for Freedom owners, outwith the US as well.

Kind regards,

Gerald
