winged F25, on mooring or anchor ?'s

Post by yarrow »

to the forum,
was looking for any feedback about putting an F25 with rotating winged spar on a mooring or anchor, will the winged spar sail the boat, with no sail when it sits on a mooring or anchor?
if yes can the boat be set up so it will be fine at anchor or on a mooring?
cheers,

Yes, It will sail around when there is wind, and especially if the current is not aligned with the wind. However, most catboats sail around, wing , or not. My experience with Nonsuch 30 and 33 is the basis for my opinion. You could try a small riding sail strung between the boom end, rear rail, and the fitting for the cockpit table on the inside of the transom.
May I suggest that, if you haven't already, you replace the puny bow chocks that came with the F-25 with larger ones that will accomodate realistic mooring pennants, and some chafing gear.
