Hi All

Has anyone replaced the 10 gal holding tank with a larger one in a 33 Cat Ketch (hull 74 ). Mine is located on the port side just forward of the water tank. It looks like there is room forward of the holding tank under the bench on the port side.

Thanks
Erik

Erik - I know your post was a few years ago. How did it work out? I removed mine so I do have photos of the space.

I put one into the toilet compartment of my UK 1987 35 CK in 2002. It's of s/s and about 1.5m height, five sided in the vertical to fit behind the door. Internal pump-up tube to the bottom, fills at the top, drains at bottom plus breather pipe to topsides just below the rail. Probably capacity about 80l. Very seldom used as our cruising grounds don't demand them. 2x 3-way valves in the 1.5" outlet pipes - a real pain to fit when I was much younger. Not sure if I have photos and boat inaccessible due to lockdown.

I made a full-size template in MDF to check fit and access. Fabricator was delighted as he usually gets a 'fag-packet' sketch.

Please advise if I should search the archives.

I never got around to either adding a tank or replacing everything. Perhaps in the spring.

I pulled mine and put new house batteries there. There was space fore and aft of the original tank. Can't see why you couldn't double the size if you can find a custom tank builder.

The battery closes to you in the photo was the original tank location if that helps.
