I have a 36-38 freedom the Mary O Reilly and had the same plumbing problem that other people are reporting with vacuum in the freshwater tank. This made the cap hard to remove and created a poor situation, vacuum working against pressure when the water pump is running. The water pump takes water from the water tank which allows the pump to deliver it to the system under pressure but if the vent to the water tank closes vacuum is created in the water tank. The water tank vent drains into the bilge and accessing this line is almost impossible.I drilled a 3/16 hole in the water fill tube by removing the plywood cover in the cupboard below, approx 2'' below the cap. All my problems have now been solved because the vent now releases the vacuum,i also installed a new water pump and the system now works great. If i ever heel that far that the water exits through the vent i will reduce sail.
