Hi One and All
I have removed the original headlining as the foam backed material was starting to sag in lots of places, this was due to the foam breaking down and turning to dust. I am planning to replace it with simulated T & G painted plywood sheets. Has anyone done similar?

Re: Headlining
We replaced headliner on our 1991 F38 with white, pebble texture FRP board purchased at Home Depot. Easy to work with, came out great. Brightened cabin and easy to clean. Used old pieces as templates. Put self adhesive (2" wide, 1/4" thick) closed cell foam weather stripping on back to make up for loss of thickness from foam and vinyl over luan sheets.

Sailmon, how did you attach it? Did you use the self adhesive ape to attach it or you used tape to make up f or loss of thickness and you used something else to attach it to the underdeck.

Re: Headlining
Attached with battens, braces and trim pieces used on original headliner. No tape needed. Weather stripping just added some thickness because FRP board is approx 1/8" and luan with foam and vinyl a vbit over 1/4". Because the FRP board is a bit more flexible than the luan originally used, it sagged just a bit in 2 or 3 small areas. We remedied this by putting a few (no more than3) self tapping screws through FRP into underside (inner skin) of deck. We used the plastic snap-on screw covers to dress.
