I have a 1987 Freedom 30 (Mull) and am trying to figure out the manufacturer of the hatches. Last weekend I left the large, main hatch open while putting up the sails and the boom vang caught on the hatch cover and bent the frame. I am hoping to find a replacement hatch cover so that I do not have to replace the entire assembly at the deck. While googling around I found a reference that mentioned Atkins and Hoyle hatches were used on some Freedoms. I've been to the Lewmar website and the hatch on the boat does not seem to match.

Any ideas?

Bomar. Manufactured by Pompanette.

Mike- same thing happened to me on F36 ketch. Replaced the flimsy Bomar with a Lewmar Ocean model. Very small price difference- opening had to be slightly enlarged either way. You probably won't be able to get a replacement unless you find a used one at a salvage yard. Good luck
