A surprise to me when the local hardware store said they couldn't refill my six pound aluminum tank until I got it recertified. Didn't know there was such a procedure or requirement. One tank had a1997 date on it. Left it at local propane place to be tested. No big deal, just a surprise.

Was the Coert process painless? Any gotchas with the company? Expecting to be in same situation this summer.

No issues. They simply air pressure tested the tanks. They said usual issue was with the valves. Mine were both good.

I had two aluminum tanks recertified three years ago at Corp brothers. I think the cost was about $50.
