My Freedom 28 (Mull) had a bad grounding a few years back. It has leaked around the back of the keel ever since.
I took up the cabin sole to find the floor had been leveled by pouring a bucket of resin in place. Now there are two fore and aft cracks in the resin behind the keel sump, and the hull is definitely flexing in this area.
I'd like to strengthen by glassing in a substantial grid on the hull behind the keel; the problem is, how do I remove the cracked resin? It's up to an inch thick and apparently well bonded (I whacked at it with hammer and chisel).
Any suggestions?
