What is this electrical junction thingy?

It's mounted port side on the outer wall, inside the galley storage above the stove.

Thats a junction box and the black thing is a cover over a terminal block. I believe it may be for your 12 volt interior lighting but thats just a guess as bluer wires usually indicate lighting wireing and the black should be the negative wire. just remove those SS phillips screws and take off the black plastic cover and you should see a bunch of ring terminals attached to the terminal block. One of the better things that Tillotson Pearson was the wiring. They used good conduit and decent wire and made accessing it pretty easy. Tracing circuits is quite easy compared to many other boats. Also those silver stainless plates or tangs sticking out at the bottom are jumpers connecting separate terminals to a common wire or circuit.

Thanks for the response, and the details on wire coloring, etc. Once we defrost, I'll pull the cover and take a look.

Gonna get into the 40's this week!
