Re: Perkins 4-108 Rebuild

I'm sorry I've been away so long and didn't follow up on the rebuild.

Final tally for the rebuild:

Machine shop work and deluxe rebuild kit: $1528.31 including shipping to and from Annapolis MD to up state NY.

Injector Pump and injectors rebuild : $732.40 including new elements for the injectors (which were not needed but I did anyway) and a new "head" for the pump which was needed to get the fuel volume up at cranking pressure.

We also spent ~ $300 on a new raw water pump which we did not need but which I felt was a good idea. I've rebuilt the old pump and spared it out.

I figure around $200 for incidentals. I also had the small end bushes on the connecting rods "reamed" by a friend for free. I'm not certain what the machine shop would have charged. I just forgot that it needed to be done and didn't send my rods in with everything else.

The results are outstanding!
