I have a Freedom 38 with a Yanmar 3JH3E engine. This engine is larger than the original engine and the sea water pump is located in a way that makes it impossible to service unless I remove the alternator and possibly the front engine mount. I am considering purchasing a crank driven pump for a volvo penta and mounting it to the front of the engine. The owner of DMK Yachts Instruments posted on his blog that he did this with his 3JH engine. Has anyone tried doing something similar?
