Prop 39 Express

Post by IandI »

Good Day all. I am removing my Maxprop as refurbishment is simply too costly. I would like to put a fixed prop on and am wondering what other 39s have for a set up.
Eng, trans, prop and pitch?
I have a 44hp, Hurth 150V 2R A 2,13 B2,22
Thanks all

Hi Steve,

I have a Perkins 4-108 (Nominally 50HP), not sure of the gearbox without visiting the boat (almost definitely a Hurth) with a 17 x 12 prop. I have no problems revving the engine out to 4000 rpm if need be, so it is way underpropped. If you look at the attached picture I could go to an 18" prop with no problems.
I have my eye on the Kiwi props, they have 3 and 4 bladed versions and seem like a good idea, but I'll wait until I re-engine the boat. I'm thinking about going electric, which would need a different prop anyway.

Hope that helps

Regards
