help

Post by lewharve »

we were heading south and the boat started surging and stalled I had to jump start it. it surged all the way to st Augustine cleared the lions bridge and died. plus all our elect died so we are dead.
we are at a mooring in st Augustine and they want us out tue. but we can't find a slip and we have to be on a dock to get our boat fixed. not a good time
any suggestions

Strap your dinghy athwart-ship and use it as a tug boat. I've had to do it several times and it works well.

Change your fuel filter and try to run it. If that does 't work, tying the dingy alongside as tug boat or tow boat us is best bet.

we did have bad filter but it was a small one hidden under the floor.
we got the starter replaced and the engine starts on a dime and runs great

That's great. It's almost always the simplest things like clean fuel, air and a clean prop on a diesel.
