Had the jib up for the first time this weekend. Very light air, 8 knots max and the attached pics were taken in less than that. Only tacked twice before the wind died out, but when I did the camberspar did not flip over inside the sleeve, the jib came across but gave the appearance of being backwinded, like would happen on a conventional jib if the "old" jib sheet was not released while tacking. I was able to get it to act correctly by easing off on the halyard a few feet and then raising it up again.
Halyard too tight? Not enough give in the forestay? Not rigged properly? (see pics, I'll add more in next post)

Re: camberspar question
Bob;
The long arm at the aft end of the spar should come down to the jib sheet, not to the topping lift. This arm gives it the twist it needs to flip. This should solve this problem.
Enjoy

Re: camberspar question
The bolt through the shieve at the front of the spar should go through the grommets in the sail as well. Looks like an extra loop has been added extending it forward an inch or so.

Re: camberspar question
Ed, that makes sense. I thought that extra shackle on the arm was kind of strange, I'll flip the arm 180 degrees and attach the topping lift to the top, and the jib sheet to the bottom.Ereiss wrote:Bob;

Thanks also for you input on winter storage. I got a quote to modify my cover for mast in storage and I'll save over twice the modification cost in the first year alone.

Thanks very much. I paid the yard to rig things my first season and this is very helpful!tnltracy wrote:The bolt through the shieve at the front of the spar should go through the grommets in the sail as well. Looks like an extra loop has been added extending it forward an inch or so.
