39PH missing sheave, foresail traveler

Post by rbpfyo »

just noticed a missing sheave on my foresail traveler (thought it was a little hard to move that car)
anyone know where to get/how to replace?

also, any thoughts on how to re-direct both ends of the traveller line(s) to the port side? PO made a mess of the rigging, re-routing everything
I like Freedom's original layout of foresail: port and mainsail: starboard

thanks!

Hello Rolf,

There actually ain't supposed to be any sheave there because you are not meant to control the position the of the traveler car. Gary Hoyt said that you are never supposed to sheet the forward sail in more than the handrails on, the coach roof. Mine doesn't even have a control line for the travel car on the forward sail. As far as I remember, it's not in the original rigging plan either.

Cheers.
