Thanks for all the comments. I had been looking at atn mast climber, the negatives have been related to ascenders scratcing/damaging mast. Do you pad yours?

Hi, I also use the top climber with a second safety line. And also find the only issue is not being quite high enough at the top.

I' e been up with both a bosun's chair on the halyard and the ATN Top Climber. I like the top climber as you can use it yourself. However, as pointed out it is hard to get up over the top of the mast. My F36 ketch had two halyards on each mast; the F36 cat sloop I'm getting does not so the hint on the safety device should be heeded. I lack a power winch on either boat

I have been up 5 times using a tope climber, but for me it is a killer. and with the hole in the bottom of the mast I could not do anything. but I sent my wife up in a boson chair and the electric winch very easy.
