Does anyone know if the metal ring on the deck that the mast goes through (where the vang and other blocks attach) can rotate around, ideally 180 degrees if it is unbolted? The ring that holds the vang on mine has broken off and is currently Jerry rigged.
Thanks.

Re: Mast deck ring f30
On my F30/32, the mast ring has attachment points only towards the aft of the boat (i.e. the forward part of the ring is devoid of attachment points) so rotating it would not work. Also, my vang (rigid) actually attaches to the mast via a separate vang collar located approximately 6 inches above the mast collar itself (although the vang sheet does lead thru a block at the aft center position of the mast ring). To be honest, I would be concerned about attaching the actual vang (particularly a rigid vang like on my boat) directly to the mast ring due to the potential forces involved. To be honest, the mast ring is a cast aluminum part and thus not the strongest potential component (point of reference, the bottom ring used the same fabrication technique, and over the years, eventually cracked and need to be replaced -- one learns to love parts embedded in 5200).

I have seen the vang collar in pictures. Someone sent me a vender but I could never get in touch with them. Any idea where I might be able to get my hands on one?
