mounting anchor windlass

we have a freedom 45 that came with out a windlass. I was unable to find a exact replacement so I got a lofrans windlass. has anyone mounted a new windlass or ideas. because this will need modifications

I installed a Lofrans Tigres on Ketch 22 a few years ago. I was so pleased with the performance that I was moved to write this:

There are four links on that page. One labeled 'thing of beauty' shows the windlass mounted on the bow.
Ketch 22 is an F39 Express. The battery bank is mounted in the stern behind the auxiliary in the F39. I ran battery cables (#2 if memory serves me correct) from the house bank to power the windlass on the bow. I also used thick rectangular stainless steel backing plates, in addition to thick washers for the mounting bolts. It wasn't a particularly difficult installation project. More awkward than conceptually difficult. It's not easy to squeeze into the chain locker in front of the main mast on the F39.
It's a great windlass.
