Moderators Needed

Post by GeoffSchultz »

Since I'm typically goen cruising for 6+ months out of the year, and the fact that this isn't a monarchy, we'll need a few more moderators whose job it will be to delete any spam and possibly move discussions to the correct sub-forum. Any suggestions/volunteers?

I can help with that

And, while we don't need a "monarchy", there's nothing wrong with having a benevolent despot. (not that I would do that, but somebody needs to be the "firm hand on the tiller" as it were)

I agree John,

Benevolent Despot who consults his group of moderators before any beheading is a pretty good model for online community moderation. :) I've come to know Geoff over the years by his writing at 7knots and elsewhere. He is one of the early birds over there as was I. Having data base backups spread out a little bit is a comfort also.

So I say "Up with Geoff" and long live the Despot!

I just signed up, I love the site so far and, if you need help, I'm willing. I'm reasonably computer literate and do similar things on the web (write some web pages, run an FTP site, etc.)

Let me know how I can help!

Welcome aboard Rick,

Geoff has done a great job here eh? I love it already and to me it's like a new boat with a blank slate to rig it out the way we like. I really think it's going to help us all get to know one another better and further the interest in Freedom Yachts. A great forum works wonders in helping to maintain our boats values also.

Hey Rick,

I'm not sure if I mentioned it to you before but Kerri and I have a place near Wewahitchka on the Wetapo Creek. Do you keep your boat in St Joe? We should get together next time we are down that way.

If you're jonesing for a day of sailing when you're down, I'm about 45 minutes east at Shell Point (near St. Marks.) Stop on by....
