Posting Requirements

Post by GeoffSchultz »

Due to automated spam attacks, I have turned on a system which will queue posts for display until you've already had 3 approved posts. Once you're past 3 posts (which includes all of your posts to date), your posts will appear right away. So, if you've been a regular poster, you won't see any change. If you haven't made 3 posts as of the time of your post, then your post won't appear until it's been approved by a moderator.

Sorry for this requirement, but I don't think that anyone wants to see this forum filled with spam.

I dropped the requirement to 1 post. I figured that we could tell after a single post as to whether or not the person is a spammer.

Also, I made some changes to registration form which should keep robots from registering accounts. You might get a chuckle out of it...The signup form now asks "Are you a spammer?" with options of "Yes, No, Maybe". The signup procedure doesn't care what you answer, but an answer must be present. Since the robots don't know about this question, the signup fails because they don't provide an answer. I haven't had a single robotic signup since I implemented the change.
