Freedom 33 Eleuthera changing hands please help me

Post by cptprogreso »

This is my frist post as i am trying to buy a f 33 that is in isla mujeres.

I have a lots of question about how to buy a us vessel outside the states, can you help me?

The boat has no title but has a Certificate of documentation an a previos owner bill of sale notarized.

The boat has two people registered in the certificate, do i need to fly to the states in order to sign and get notarized a new bill of sale?

I would not loger make a new owner in the Certificate of documentation as i am not a us citizen?

No offense, but this is much too complex of a subject to be handled by guesses in an Internet forum. You need a lawyer who knows Mexican and US marine law. You need to be very careful with the Importada papers to make sure that the ownership follows them. I would suggest that you get the sellers to pay for this, as it's their responsibility.

US Documentation is the title to the vessel- is it current? Documentation by the US is only available to US citizens. There are a lot of variables when you (I assume) want to import the boat to another country, and often taxes. Or is your intent to leave the boat where it is? What is it's status re. the Mexican government? There are services that manage these transactions for a fee- one is mentioned in the thread linked here as having been reputable. Not enough information in your post about what you wan to do, and in any case it’s not a subject for unqualified internet advice.
