Thanks for hauling up the main sheet...

The rookies, Bill & Carole Smith have the date entered into our schedule. Sailing out of the mid-Peninsula, dredging will be finished and tides no longer a worry leaving marina. Not a member of Coyote Point YC or any other. If we deadbeats can tag along, much appreciated.

We have an anchor, will spend some trial and error time expanding our knowledge base. No dink or dinghy, been looking. Have a sling to attach one to radar arch. More trail and error sessions before October.

Have boat in common with 'Camino', F35 Pedrick sloop. Believe 'gamayun'/Carliane and my wife have a mutual acquaintance from Half Moon Bay. And would welcome the chance to meet other Freedom owners, few they might be.

Any east coasters have October travel plans that include San Francisco?

Ha, I had wondered if we knew each other! It's really just a small bay after all.

Camino, please confirm the dates. We had initially discussed Oct 14-15. I am so looking forward to this!

Kynntana is a 1988 Freedom 38 that I bought in January 2013 in San Diego. I have been prepping K (or more so, me) for the singlehanded TransPac, which is next scheduled for July 2018. Mike Cunningham (Jacqueline) did the race last year. This process, including working up to more solo offshore races, is really teaching me so much about my boat. After almost 30 years, K was in serious need of some upgrades, which is slowly getting done, but overall, I've found the F38 to be a solid and highly capable offshore boat.

We can do 14-15OCT17 or any other date in October between the 7th and the 20th. I have to be back in Vallejo NLT the 21st. I have a 1980 blue 33F CK/CB Millennium Falcon, 2 people and a dog, Doug, Marie and Frankie. Hope we can do the earlier date in October, looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing other Freedoms.

Treasure Island Development Authority - the watery governing body - requires each boat to complete a permit. This permit I believe is for stays of 24 hrs or longer. Not certain as to exactly how long we will be there so please take a moment to complete the permit - I turned one in for Good Way II -'quick and easy.

Below find 3 cut and paste links : TI overview, TIDA rules, and the permit. Make sense?

Submitted online permit request. Painless. No receipt, just a "Thank You" after submission of information. Guess you get what you pay for... :D

Wow...now wishing I had my Freedom out here in the Bay area.

It would be a long sail from Ft. Lauderdale.

Have fun!
