Re: freedom 21 mast exit block

It's a harken through deck block. Double check the size, but if my notes are correct it should be this, https://www.harken.com/en/shop/small-boat-classic-292/38-mm-through-deck-big-bullet-block/ you don't use the black plastic trim piece. You need to drill out the rivets on the stainless steel strap...

Re: Freedom 21 spinnaker sock/tube

new2u , I actually asked the same question a while back. https://freedomyachts.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12044&p=47343#p47343 Not a big sample size, but it seems people do it both ways. Right now I have it running in the back. If you look at the video on youtube it seems like the line goes to the fron...

Re: Freedom 21 spinnaker sock/tube

Ian, I just noticed you're missing two lines that move the yard in and out. Not absolutely necessary but nice to have. Look here to see how you run them https://web.archive.org/web/20170207203926/http://freedom21.info/f21commission.pdf Looks like you don't have the ring in the stainless steel tube s...

Re: Freedom 21 spinnaker sock/tube

Awesome! I love the look of a sailboat under spinnaker. Since I single hand a lot, one of my main reasons for buying a Freedom was how easy it is to fly the spinnaker!

Re: Silicone around mast boot?

Interesting... so if your mast doesn't go all the way down into the cabin then it's definitely not like the pictures with the a-frame. Here's a picture of my "knee" (sorry I don't have any other closer shots) mast.png It looks like yours has it too. Theoretically it's possible for one person to do i...

Re: Freedom 21 Traveler End Controls

No you don't need the cap. The new style of cap is decorative anyway the control block will stop the traveller from going off the track. I don't really remember why I kept it (it's been >10 years), probably didn't really even think about it! Chris, what's the double block for that's tied off to the ...

Re: Freedom 21 Traveler End Controls

Are you missing the cap on the end of the traveler track (the red one in this picture). 1796415152IMAG0200.jpg ? as you can see I have the setup you are going for. I don't remember having to do anything out of the ordinary to install them. I think I just through bolted them. If I remember, I'll chec...

Re: F21 running rigging beginner questions

My main sail has a strap with a block at each reefing tack. One on each side of the sail so that each of the reef lines stays on one side. I'll take a picture next time I'm out on the boat.

I think the cleats are for the staysail since it doesn't have the traditional jib/genoa blocks on the rail.
