Re: Sailomat and hydovane windvanes
Mike Just to let you know that 'Paradox' came with a Hydrovane which would be about the same age as yours I guess, plus a spare rudder. She also came carries a manual for the device so if you don't have one I could scan and upload. Let me know. Early winter here so not much going on boatwise. The ma...

Re: When I did for the past 2 weekends..buying a used boat cover
Hi Geoff. Nice job. I've been thinking about how to make a cheap winter cover and the only solution I've come up with is lots of tarp taped together wite waterproof adhesive tape. I got a quote from a UK firm that will do a complete shrink wrap down to toerail while afloat with masts up and even wit...

Teak deck repair
Does anyone have experience of repairing teak decks? My F39 PHS has teak laid just about everywhere the builder could put it. Wherever it's been regularly walked on or where water tends to sit there are problems which come in two kinds: (i) occasional loose planks with water underneath after rain (i...

Re: Freedom 39 with staysail
Hi Tom Great to be in touch with another F39 owner. The reason we haven't used the staysail yet is simply down to the fact that we only bought her back in April and have been working on her ever since the delivery trip from Plymouth UK to Brighton UK. As always too much time and money spent already....

Re: Boom
Just came across this in an online Uk catalogue. Interesting to see how similar it is to Michel's climbing kit idea... http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/sail-control-reefing/wichard/gyb-easy-boom-brake2093603.bhtml Brian Kerslake F39 PHS 'Paradox', Brighton Marina, UK PS Where a very nice F35 'Goldrush...

Freedom 39 with staysail
Hi all I came across this picture while idly browsing the web. The originator said, quote, "the most beautiful photo of a cat ketch under sail I have ever seen is on the Ketch 22 site at http://home.earthlink.net/~svs.1/ Good, eh? Never had my staysail up yet... Makes me think again about my 'plan' ...

Mike
In one of your postings here you said your sails are now loose-footed. Did you have each clew reinforced or simply use 'as is'?

Re: Freedom 35 mast rings
When I bought my F39 PHS from Ancasta in Plymouth UK, their broker Andrew (can't remember his family name) said he had all the Freedom drawings on file. However when I asked him for a copy of the F39 drawings for myself and the F40 for Michel, he couldn't track them down. You might like to try askin...
