Re: very low water bilge pump

I got all my supplies for the DIY version and am ready to roll as soon as I get a small 12VDC battery. I want to test the rig in my garage before I start screwing things into the boat. One of the issues I have had with these small "diaphragm" pumps is its very easy to foul them with debris. I stole ...

Free F30 surface mount fixed port templates

I just converted my F30 to surface mount fixed ports. Pictures of the new starboard side ports are in the forum. I created some black cardboard templates for the new fixed ports (useable both port and starboard) and offer them free to anyone interested in doing a similar project. The templates can b...

Re: Icebox upgrade

For those of you who do not have the luxury of that roomy F35. I have a plain old icebox on my 30 and was a happy camper for 23 years but I have gotten old and soft. First it was a diesel heater for the cold winters then I decided I wanted Ice for my afternoon Martini in the hot summers. I bought a ...

Free original fixed port frames for F30

I replaced my framed ports with surface mount acrylic so I now have four frames available. I had these powder coated about five years ago and they are still in pretty good condition. I also had the interior frames coated so they look excellent. The glass needs to be resealed. Frankly I think doing a...

Re: fixed portlight leak test jig

Mike Nice job. Looks professional. How did you secure glass? Adhesive tape? Yes, I used black VHB but it turns out I could have used whatever color. I wound up painting the back of the acrylic where it overlapped the white cabintop so the tape and 795 sealant is hidden. I used a grippy black spray ...

very low water bilge pump

is anyone aware of a small (could be very small)bilge pump to remove water to an almost dry state? If I get water in the bilge or, worse, in the shallow pan behind the engine, I can run the bilge pump for a moment but wind up with at least 1/4 inch of water to sponge out. Not a big deal for the bilg...

Re: fixed portlight leak test jig

Simple enough test. The only problem is the seal may exhibit different results when installed in its intended position with curvature of cabin top sides. Rich, as much as it pains me to admit it, you were right. I did not want to remove the glass from the frame which is a major step and would requi...

Re: New Freedom 30 Owner

Re the hull cracks you are going to fix. The core is dry I hope. Should be checked if you have damage. If any wetness, fix before repairing the laminate. Should be doable from inside the boat if necessary.

Re: WTB Hoyt Gun Mount Freedom 30

Oh, sorry, just went back to your boat pic and see you DO have the correct pulpit. 75% of your problem is already solved. Worst case, fab a mount and pole and buy a new (or much cheaper used) spinnaker. Then prepare to buy what seems like 500 feet of line to rig the the thing. I have a gunmount fixt...
