Were you able to sort this out?
I am having the same issue. I suspect it is a spring kit.

Removing aft toilet on 40/40
Folks
I am replacing the head with a composting toilet.
The bolts holding down the existing toilet seem to be carridge bolts with nuts under the liner. Any ideas on how to get to them? I have looked under sink and nav stand and behind head.
Thanks - John

FS: Freedom 28 CK
Folks, I am selling my F28 CK. It has been for sale for a while and it is getting to the point where I think I will donate it. Before I do, I am willing to entertain any offers or options that folks might have out there. More information can be found at: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1984/Freedom-...

F40/40 water tank gauge
Folks,
I can not find a tank gauge on my water tank. There is no sender that I can see on the top of the tank.
Am I missing something?
Any suggestions on a gauge? I am looking for something simple like what is on the fuel tank.
Thanks- John

Re: Fresh Water Head and Effect on Calcification?
Composting toilets are the way to go. Best thing to hit boating since fiberglass. I had a very stinky F28CK. Took out the holding tank and pipes. Replaced with natures head toilet. http://www.natureshead.net/ I did not get around to hooking up the vent last summer. I was on board last week after it ...

That is how my F28CK did it. Straight into the bilge. I had folks take showers on deck and pass the shower hose out the window.

Re: Main halyard at top of mast of F-36.
Mike, Could you take up a boat hook with you? Maybe attach a piece of wire to the end that you could bend to snag the halyard? When I go up the mast, I use a halyard to the bosun's chair and a piece of webbing wrapped around the mast attached to my harness. The webbing is wrapped several times aroun...
