This thread also has some good ideas on rigging, such as running the pole control lines outside the life lines and some others:

Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks
I thought it would be worth adding a link to prior discussion of the inside vs. outside retrieval line:

Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks
With regard to sliders for the inside of the sleeve, I have been using UHMW tape, which seems to last 3 years or so before needing renewal. I'm a bit surprised that 1/8" thick bars will fit in there. I suppose you can't go too much thinner and get a decent countersink for the nylon screws. I had tri...

Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks
@iansan5633 I have actually tried your doubling trick with the clew lines, but I ended up abandoning it because it was not really needed for my setup and having all that extra line just created more possibilities for foul-ups. I'm glad it works for you though, because in principle it seems like a ni...

Re: F25 spinnaker pole dimension?
The Selden kit is overkill for what you need in terms of the endcaps and trip wires etc. It is the right length though, and you could probably make it work. If you were to try and source a simple 16'L x 3"OD Al tube and have a machine shop make some simple end cap with stainless rings to attach the ...

Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks
Another point of discussion might be whether to run the retrieval end of the spinnaker halyard on the outside of the chute or the inside. I have alternated over the years several times, and can never quite make up my mind which way is usually better. I would lay out the case for each way as follows:...

Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks
A video posted by @newt2u (https://www.freedomyachts.org/viewtopic.php?p=55651#p55651) got me thinking it would be worthwhile to start a topic on gun-mount spinnaker rigging tweaks. As a starting point for any discussion this generates, it's worth tagging here the most excellent Rick Simonds Gunmoun...

Re: Grounding Wire Question
Do you have a way to isolate your battery completely when not in use? That would be something to try.

Re: New Mainsail Advice for Freedom 25 wing mast
First of all, I would say there is something to be said for Dacron. Our 1984 round-mast F25 still had the original Dacron sail in 2007 when we took ownership, and it is still in usable condition today. Whereas a boat I raced on with with a full suite of high-tech laminate (taffeta/dyneema) has blown...
