Thanks Tom. Looks very interesting. If I mount on pedestal, would also get the tach up out of the footwell & up where it is more easily seen. How does the tack acquire its data? Off alternator? Other??
Thanks,
Bob

3GM30F tachometer not working
HER Diamond is a 1991 F38 with Yanmar 3GM30F. The tach recently stopped working. I recently had the trans out & confirmed that pick up is in place & properly adjusted. Rather than going to trouble & expense of replacing the original system piece by piece (pick up, wiring, display) i am interested in...

Re: solar panel system setup - request for advise
We put a 320W solar panel on Her Diamond’s davits with Victron 100/30 MPPT controller. Keeps our 300ah AGM bank fully charged almost every day. Now only use gen set for water making. One of the best improvements we’ve made since moving aboard. True peace of mind!

Re: Made it through Michael okay
Her Diamond is on the hard in Port Charlotte for the summer. Storage yard manager said wind in their area never got above 25 knots - whew. Rick - glad your boat came through well.

Re: Fixing mast hardware
If you are referring to the sail track on the aft aspect of the mast, it was originally mounted with rivets. Over time the rivets corrode and wear - often becoming loose or breaking. Best fix is to tap the mast through the old rivet holes and install 1" long 1/4" pan head machine screws. Paul Dennis...

Re: using a drill for raising the main
I bought the 28V half inch Milwaukee right angle a couple of years ago - does a great job raising main on our F38. Will also pull me up the mast for inspections/repairs. While I looked at the Winchrite and really liked it, I opted for the Milwaukee becasue I can also use it as a drill when doing ins...

Re: A couple F30 questions.
Hi Mike, yes - basically a fiberglass board with a pebbled surface on front and smooth on back. Home improvement stores typically sell them for renovating home bathrooms. Easy to cut with a saber saw and very durable.

Re: A couple F30 questions.
We sold our F30 10 years ago - traded up to F38. Our F30 shower drained into a plastic sump box in the bilge (keel sump) with a small bilge pump and float switch - plumbed to overboard discharge. Preferable to not drain grey water into the bilge. Two most likely culprits in slow shower drainage are ...

Thanks All,
Still sorting out options - leaning toward cell booster and possibly in-reach. Will probably test out and try to keep our antique M601 going at a minimum to receive Chris' weather reports.
Geoff - sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you guys are doing OK.
