Re: dismasted freedom 39 ph

I'm also curious as to why you've had the mast "inspected prior to every departure"? Was there something that you were concerned about? What experience did the person have with carbon fiber masts that was doing the inspections? Given that this occurred in light conditions, just after departure, I wo...

Re: dismasted freedom 39 ph

This is the area I was asking about. There certainly does seem to be something other than halyard slap going on. Not that it really matters, as that isn't where it broke, but I'm just curious. And I'm just amazed at how clean the break is.

Re: New Account Requests

I can't do it, but if you look at the VERY bottom of the digest which gets mailed to you, you'll see a line that reads:

You can change or delete your subscription from the forum’s User Control Panel

And the "User Control Panel" is a link. Just follow that and remove yourself.

Re: Camber spar

Personally, I've found that tying a lanyard on to it through the provided hole works fine.

Re: Wing keel

There's no doubt that the wing keel is a great anchor. I've gone aground several times and simply waited for the tide to rise. So, don't go aground at high tide! :D The biggest problem is that you can't tip the boat to shorten the draft of the wing keel, as the edges just dig in deeper. Right now, w...

Here's a photo of the prop strut showing the location of the set screws. I suspect that yours will be different.

Re: Cutlass (Morse) Bearing Removal - F-33

On my 4040, there were set screws holding it in place.
