Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

That looks great. I'm certain it will feel different driving, too. Good job!

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

Report back how it peeled... :D

I noticed some light spots/flecks in the peelply pic. My experience is that those are areas where there is air between the ply and your substrate. I usually paint some plain epoxy on top of the ply to help force the air out.

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

Do you have any experience with peel ply? You might find it is good at helping fill in the weave, plus it creates an excellent finish to glass on top or to paint. You also avoid amine blush. Your can also try some taffeta or other nylon or poly cloth from the fabric store instead of peel ply. Nice w...

Re: Manual bilge pump

Since you can get to both sides of the pickup hose, can you seal one end and pressurize it to check for a leak? Also, any chance there are two pickups?

That rudder looks so awesome! Are you replacing the bushings in the boat, too? If yes, what material?

Re: Refinishing Sole - original finish not varnished

If the woods is unfinished or oiled, I've had very good luck with a two part teak cleaner and brightener and then a hard wax oil finish like Fiddes. The cleaner avoided sanding the veneer, though it did raise the grain a little. After the first coat of Fiddes, do a light sanding with 150 or 180 grit...

You can try something like Uship. com. I've had good luck. But pay attention to the ratings of the carriers. Also, I think at this time of the year you have boats being shipped East to West, so some boat transporter may be an option.

Best of luck!

Re: 2 reefing points

Well, I wrote to check the outflow. Your can get performance info by checking current consumption (house amp meter) and water output (bucket and timer)... Some pumps are rebuildable. I spent a fair about of time removing debris from the aerator b on one faucet, with quite the performance gain... e

Re: 2 reefing points

Check the pump outlet flow... I just had similar symptoms on a friend's boat. Sure Flow diaphram pump, small debris in the pump chamber that blocked one of the valves and prevented pressure from building. Pump was running the whole time, which you've not listed as a symptom. I also plumbed the pump ...

Re: Replacement rudder for Mull 28

Looks cool. So who is finally building it? And who did the design?
