Re: Freedom 25 vs Nonsuch 26
Hi, I've got an F25 and a friend has a Nonsuch 26. My friend sold his Nonsuch 30 to get out of boating but ended up buying a 26. I went for a sail with him a few weeks ago in @10-17 and was impressed with how fast the Nonsuch was (seemed faster than my boat). The Nonsuch is very substantial and has ...

Re: 1985 F25 for sale in FL
Hi, Just an FYI. I've got a 1983 F25 with a the fiberglass interior pan showing (non-rounded bulkheads). I've got the same ports but have seen some pictures of late 83s but definately 84s having the seperate ports. I would expect an 85 to have the seperate ports and different interior. Just my two c...

Autopilot ST4000 problem
This is interesting.
I've had my boats in the same slip and marina for twenty odd years and my zincs
allways look close to new at haulout. This year was my first with the Freedom
(it doesn't have shore power) and at haulout the poor condition of the zincs was very
noticeable....

Re: my 1st big sail in my F25
I had two long sails this past weekend and the boat was great. The first day I was out with my youngest daughter (26) and her bulldog. She loved the simplicity of the boat compared to the Tartan and genuinely seems reinvigorated (sp?) about sailing again. We launched, flew and retrieved the new spin...

Re: my 1st big sail in my F25
I've taken my first two sails the past two weekends and have to say the sailing performance
is exceeding my expectations. The pointing ability is better than anticipated and jibes are fun.
I'm shooting for three sails this weekend and trying out the new spinnaker and staysail too.

Re: F25 Rudder Construction
I just got my boat in November but when I first saw it in the water the scum line is going to be just where the bottom paint will end (everywhere except the stern). I like to have a couple of inches of bottom paint not submerged as a buffer. My stern is as you described (about a half inch out of the...

Re: F25 Rudder Construction
That's a good point Yarrow. Mine is stearn heavy too and it seems to me you could have the same shape rudder but save thirty pounds with a bit more modern constuction techniques....
