Re: A Journey So Far - The travels of Nausikaa
Dear friends It´s been a while. Busy time, many changes. OK, here it is, the whole story, compiled in a sigle doc, for those of you with a few hours to burn idly. Over and above the (very debatable) entertainment value, I hope it may offer something uselful to other sailors. Everything in the doc is...

Re: electric windlass on a F30 CK Hoyt
We installed a Lewmar V700 on our 1987 F30, Weeble, and it fits nicely and works well. We turned the bow cleat 90-degrees to give more room in front of it, removed the anchor rode hawse pipe, and then glued a rectangular piece of Starboard to the deck to cover the old hawse pipe hole while having t...

Re: electric windlass on a F30 CK Hoyt
It may be sacrilegious but looking at drum winches... No sacriledge. I have! Unfortunately I have 30 mts of chain, and apart from that, electric ones are not anymore competitive pricewise than cutlasses with a rope/chain gipsy. I also looked at large drum winches. I need 700 W power motor and a spo...

electric windlass on a F30 CK Hoyt
Hello friends I must be getting old I guess, but the task of manually retrieving 60 mts of rode (and here in the Med, that´s not at all unusual) is making me re-evaluate my love for sailing. Not to mention running like a madman from the bow to the stern of Nausikaa to control the boat single-handed,...

Re: Is this a G10 rig?
Look gorgeous! Re lacing line, doesn't need to be very big, 6 mm is more than enough, and 6-8 loops around the mast would suffice.
