WTB: Gently used sails for Mull Freedom 30

I purchased my Freedom 30 about 8 years ago from the original owner and have been bringing her back to life. The original sails were left on the boat with no sail covers and were completely shot. I picked up an older set of used sails from this very list and have put a lot of miles on the boat. I'm ...

1987 Freedom 30 hatch manufacturer

I have a 1987 Freedom 30 (Mull) and am trying to figure out the manufacturer of the hatches. Last weekend I left the large, main hatch open while putting up the sails and the boom vang caught on the hatch cover and bent the frame. I am hoping to find a replacement hatch cover so that I do not have t...

Re: San Francisco Bay rendezvous September 6th 2014, anyone?

I will be sailing this weekend. If the tides are right I will duck into clipper cove coming and going from Alameda to see if anyone is around. Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!

Re: 30/32 Replacement Head

My 1987 Freedom 30 has a Raritan PHII head which I am about 99% sure is the original.

Re: F30 main sheet twisting

My plans were not to change the ability for the blocks to swivel, just rearrange slightly. Right the forward most pair of blocks ride against each other so hard the block cheeks are cracked and broken. If I add an additional shackle to the system so that the blocks can rotate slightly and are not be...

Re: F30 main sheet twisting

I watched the youtube video and will try putting the rope away as described. The blocks I have on the main sheet are all in need of replacing but I've put it off as the shackles holding them are frozen so they need to be cut off. I've been meaning to do that this winter. Thanks for all the responses...

Re: F30 main sheet twisting

Really? You think the hand coiling is causing the problem? An easy theory to test but if just coiling the rope by hand could cause that what about the affect of the line running through the rope clutch, onto the winch and through the self tailer? Seems like that would have even more twisting effect....

F30 main sheet twisting

I have a 1987 Freedom 30 I purchased a year ago and re-did all the running rigging. I replaced the main sheet with 1/2" line which is what the factory manual specified. I have found that after about 5 days of sailing the main sheet has become so twisted at the aft-most set of blocks directly over th...

Removing the head on a 1987 Freedom 30

The head on my Freedom 30 needs to be rebuilt. I thought it would be easier to take it home so I decided to try and pull it out of the boat. The bolts that hold the head to the liner appear to have backing nuts but I have no idea how to get to them. I tried running my arm through the cabinet door be...
