Selling Freedom 40/40 2001 Hull #34
We never thought we'd be here at this point in our lives, but knees and hips aren't cooperating. Full Monty is available for sale. We repowered in 2016 and there's less than 500 hours on the Yanmar 57. She has lots of upgrades. If you're interested, let us know and we'll send full details. She's in ...

Re: Freedom 35 - Bent Prop Strut?
Safe Harbor Harbortown (Fort Pierce) bent our strut and prop shaft when hauling out for bottom work. Repaired strut (replacement would have taken too long to get and we were paying per day on the hard). Definitely replace cutlass bearing, maybe shaft too (added an inch to add line cutter) but also c...

Generator Diesel Smell in Stateroom
We have Full Monty Freedom 40/40 hull #34. When we run the generator (Panda), we end up with diesel fumes in our state room. There's a vent in the "cupboard" just inside the stateroom beside the generator (under the stairs). The fumes linger for hours. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? I'm ...

Re: And it begins
We'd very much appreciate details - what materials, etc. as you go and as to what works well and what didn't. We need to replace all our headliner and I'm not looking forward to doing it for two major reasons - the mess (glue has dried and flakes everywhere) and working over my head. A friend redid ...

Re: Refrigerator belt loose
We were lucky. Local guy brought a second pair of hands, and between them (one working in the lazarette with the existing access panel, the other in our stateroom with the access panel at the bottom of the bed out), they were able to adjust the belt and didn't have to replace it. Refrigeration is wo...

Re: Refrigerator belt loose
That's our thinking. Hopefully we can get someone out tomorrow. Cut a bigger whole and replace the belt. I hate not having refrigeration. Thanks for your help with this.

Grunert.JPG Grunert Product 256-000141 Model DC450BD12 S/N EO-G14878 Belt is at the back of the unit. Small access panel cut between aft starboard lazarette and access to unit. Still to small to get two hands in to replace the belt. Cut the access panel bigger? We don't want to pay for a day+ for a...

Re: Refrigerator belt loose
It is a Guenert. It does have a pulley. Motor that drives the belt that drives the compressor. Belt against hull with no access from stateroom panel. We had the belt changed once before and didn't have to remove the whole unit, but our guy here in Bahamas (Freeport) can't figure out how to do it. An...

Refrigerator belt loose
Hi all: We returned to Full Monty (Freedom 40/40 2002, hull #34) this week. She went through Hurricane Dorian this past September, in Freeport. What we didn't expect to find was that the refrigeration isn't working. Apparently the belt is slipping. Compressor comes on, but no cooling. Had our a/c & ...
