Re: Mizzen staysail on a cat ketch?
Besides giving me some entertainment, our staysail adds a bit of power on light days. we have dynema runners to mizzen mast top.
Just bought a used drifter with chutescoop to add color My white staysail is a bit stretched and torn from carrying it out of range.

Re: Sailing the coast of Portugal southbound
Great to see you are cruising. My f30(28) ck made that trip with first owner in 1982? Clave' has a metal shoe at the rear of the keel extending beneath the front of the rudder. I still have had to dive to cut a line wrapped on the prop shaft once. Photos or your you tube bikini money shots make twen...

Re: reefing points of a cat ketch
I have gotten a couple quotes to replace my sails. I had decided after sailing for five years I need the second reef point only. We have found full sail until we put a second reef on the mizzen and the next step furl the mizzen and go to second reef in the main. Maybe a third reef for balance or as ...

Re: Campbell sailor propeller Freedom 28ck
I prevously had a three blade with my volvo and noted higher speed and better acceleraion wih lower rpm and horspower of original volvo. Negligable speed chane under sail with current two blade prop. I can get full rpm with current prop.
Campbell claims better speed both inder power and sail. ???
