Hi RDS-

Flopper stoppers work best when they are solidly coupled to the boat. If there is anything elastic holding the flopper stoppers, the boat will still roll.

Hi Marty- Just my $.02, but a boom crutch might not be a good idea. When the boom is pulling up on the flopper stopper the boom would act as a lever with the crutch acting as the fulcrum. My new (to me) 1984 F32 "Freedomrider III" doesn't have a bow roller, and was wondering what others have. I don't have a windlass yet, but will have one in the future. My intended anchor is a 10Kg spade. Will probably use 1/4 or 5/16 chain and rode combination.
