Re: Flying a spinnaker

Hi Ian, I have found that Feronia doesn't like to carry the kite once on the beam. She will but prefers to be broader fo the beam than on it. What I have done is to get a cruising version of a code zero made for me by Kemp Sails. I can use this up to 12 knots apparent and she will happily sail up to...

Re: 2:1 main halyard

How has this worked out for you over time? My rigger has just suggested that same thing but I am concerned by all the extra string. Also how do you replace the halyard? Is is the dead end attached to the top of the master is fed back down?

Keep well

Re: Any tips on a GB circumnavigation?

Thanks again for the information. Chadrider - Yes I have started to look at keep turning left. I had looked a while back but need to revisit - with an eye to having a fin keel instead though. Mike - I keep looking out for the CCC Directions for Orkney and Shetlands, though I do have the 2016 version...

Re: Any tips on a GB circumnavigation?

Hi Gerald Thank you very much for your reply. The review of travel from locations is something you can never find in books or web sites. Not yet sure of the entire GB though Lerwick is most definitely a goal. We definitely intend heading to the Orkneys and have discussed the possibility of Shetlands...

Re: Any recommendation for Solent based Riggers for Freedoms

Thanks for your responses.

I ended up using AllSpars Solent. The mast is now out and being worked on. Feronia was not lifted out of the water when the mast came out and it came out very easily which is a relief.

Any tips on a GB circumnavigation?

Happy New Year, This year I intend sailing round Great Britain over a period of 5 months but having to make a break of 4 weeks in the middle. I am thinking of going anti clockwise and of course spending most of the time on the west coast. So any advice, recommendations of places to visit, things not...
