Re: Primary filter upgrade
Mark - thought this may help as well. The previous owner of my boat was an engineer and left some great detailed information about the boat for us. Here is an excerpt about the fuel tank. It was very helpful to know this and not risk running out of fuel; it really falls fast after 1/2 tank! Screensh...

Re: Primary filter upgrade
Our Mull 28 has the Racor 30 micron filter (must have been replaced by a previous owner). I found this picture from our commissioning last spring if it helps. It works well and I'm thinking the inline mounting may be pretty easy to replace on your own.

Re: Forestay Chafing - Mull 28
Thank you all, we launched last week with a new forestay and are going to keep a closer eye on it. @Mutima - thanks for your tips, we will see if we can adjust the camberspar this weekend.

Forestay Chafing - Mull 28
Hello All, A few years ago the a wire in the forestay on our 28 (Mull designed) snapped due to chafing against the bowsprit. It seems when the jib is up, the camberspar pushes the stay forward and causes chafing. Has anyone else experienced this and are there any easy fixes for it? Attached is a pic...

Re: F28M Unstepping Mast
Hi Moakj, I got some great responses on my post about this a few years ago, it can be viewed at http://www.freedomyachts.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12236 . I think my manual may have some images of the placement for the lifting straps on the mast when pulling it, I'll try to remember to check when we g...

Re: Unstepping Mast - 28 Mull
Thank you wcwcwc, Eric and David for the great insight and advice. We pulled the boat out with no problems and were able to remove the collar, the ring and unstep the mast with no issues. David - thank you for the advice about Draft Seal; I'll be sure to use it this spring when we launch the boat. T...

Unstepping Mast - 28 Mull
Fellow Freedom Owners, We are getting ready to haul and transport our 28 Mull designed Freedom to our home for the first time and I had some questions I'm hoping the experts on this forum would be able to help me with. The boat is pretty much ready to go with the next step being unstepping the mast....

Re: 1988 Freedom 28 info
Hi Walt - I actually purchased a 1988 Freedom 28 sloop in July and spent the summer sailing her around Buzzard's Bay in Massachusetts. This was my first sailboat, although I grew up sailing Beetlecats, Lasers and 420s on the bay. I'd be happy to try and answer any questions about the boat you may ha...

Any idea what this is?
Hi Everyone,
New owner of a 1988 Freedom 28 sloop here. We just bought the boat and are going through things the previous owner left aboard and found the item in the attached image. Any idea what it is it what it is for?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
