Re: Anchoring

I ran into the same problem on my 35. I have about 130' of chain and then about 20' of 3-strand nylon attached to the last link. At the very end of the nylon rope I tied a thick piece of wood that is much too large to fit through the hawse pipe. The idea is that if the anchor chain spools out uncont...

Re: Polyethelyne Water Tank Inspection Port and Tank Vent Changes

I used the Seabuilt 8" inspection port which provides a 6" diameter hole. I think you only need a hole big enough to get your forearm through. I don't have a photo of the sink spout handy. I'm not sure if it came from the factory or was added by a previous owner. It was a dedicated spout for filtere...

Maxwell Replacement Motor?

Hello All, I have an 12V electric Maxwell VW1200 below deck windlass in working condition but the motor is caked in rust and is ready to be replaced. My owner's manual states that the replacement motor is part# P14366. I'm looking for budget friendly ideas for a replacement. For what it's worth is s...

Re: Propeller for 40/40

If racing, a folding or feathering prop is the way to go. I like the thrust and durability of a fixed 3-blade (especially for cruising) and put a Campbell Sailor on my F35. https://westbynorth.com/campbell-sailer/ The downside of a Max Prop is all the moving parts, less forward thrust compared to a ...

Re: Freedom 35 winter cover - FREE

Hello, I am also interested.
I keep my boat in Salem MA.
I think Jim D. replied first so he should get first shot at it but if it does not work out I would be interested. I have a 1994 35' Freedom - Pedrick design.

Re: F30 Prop Strut Dezincification

Look in the bilge where the strut is bolted to the hull. Make sure the grounding wire for the strut is attached and in good shape. Also, you can check for stray current corrosion when the boat is in the water using one of these tools. You will need your own multi-meter: https://www.boatzincs.com/cor...
