Re: Stepping the Mast
The yard that hauls Nova Vita for me has done this a number of years, here's where they position the sling.

Re: New sails
I had a new set made this past year by Thurston (Quantum) in Bristol RI for my F28. Am very happy with them and they know their way around Freedoms.

Re: Replacement rudder for Mull 28
The rudder was a little under $5K all in with shipping duty, etc. I did all of the installation work myself. The total cost to me of the incident including towing, storage, haulout and relaunch, etc. was about $7500. Insurance (Geico/Boat US) paid out $2700 to me. I'm not very knowledgeable about in...

Re: Fuel tank gauge failed F28 (Mull)
Does your tank have an access port like mine (4-5" in diameter, adjacent to the gauge)? I was never sure if that access port was original or if it was cut into the tank by a previous owner. The gauge is pretty simple, it's just a wire rod with a plastic float on the bottom that actuates the needle. ...

Re: Replacement rudder for Mull 28
CCI is doing the build with Phil (Phil's Foils) doing the design. Although I had thought that the original rudderstock was a FRP/carbon composite, Phil told me that there was no carbon in mine, just FRP. So the new carbon stock should be much stronger than the original. I'd hate to have to go throug...

Re: Replacement rudder for Mull 28
First pics of my new rudder under construction. This is after they have built the carbon post and milled the foam, in preparation for vacuum-bagging the skins on.
