Re: Topping lift for F21?
Thanks very much for the replies! I appreciate it. When I got the boat the lazy jacks were adjustable but cut very short (only 6-8 inches longer) than when tied to the boom so adjusting while singlehanded was tricky to not let one go accidentally. I'll just have to re-rig them. Thanks again! Michael

Topping lift for F21?
I seem to like the sail shape better if I tie off the lazy jacks to the mast instead on keeping them on the boom when under sail. So the boom is being held up by the main sail. I'm thinking of taking the lazy jacks off altogether but then would be dealing with the boom laying on the cabin top until ...

Re: F-25 parts for sale
Do you still have compass? Do you think it would fit on an F21?

Racing an F21, how feasible?
Hi All, Newbie owner of F21 considering racing. 1984 deep keel with mainsail only (right now). Considering getting Spin and staysail. I wanted to ask a few questions. Our race captain says that they might not have a fleet to race a Freedom 21 in. although I don't think he knows much about the boat o...

Re: F21 Spinnaker and Staysail wanted
Hi Clark and all, Thanks very much for your suggestions on sails! As you mentioned racing, I wanted to ask a few questions. Our race captain says that they might not have a fleet to race a Freedom 21 in. although I don't think he knows much about the boat other than it's a cat boat. The 2 possible f...

Re: Heave to with F21?
Hi Clarke, Thanks very much for answering my post! I'll try your suggestion for heve to, it seems very viable. BTW I've strapped some bungee cords around the tiller to use as a tamer before and it's ok but can't leave it unassisted for too long. Is that what you meant by friction line? One wrap arou...

Heave to with F21?
Hi All, Newbie to sailing and recently purchased F21 1984. It used to be owned by Rick from Rise whom many of you have interacted with on this site (great guy and great organization)! Can anyone tell me how to heave to? I have read some articles on how to heave to a cat boat but they mostly involve ...

Hxschiller - Been laid up for awhile so just seeing your answer now and wanted to say thanks! Found source of leaks in deck and have repaired. Now realize that hollow keel is handy. Thanks again!
