All good ideas here. I also used boat leather.Com for the F 35 P. 4 yrs ago. Maybe similar price to defender but kit had foam pad too. No issues so far

Sounds like a workable idea - there is an extraction tool available where the new cutlass bearing is pushed in and the old one is pushed out in the same motion - similar principal, only more expensive….. that’s also how I remove thru hulls
